My northern adventures are affording me the opportunity to spend time with nieces and nephews. When did these guys become adults?
In my mind, my nephew John (pictured with his wife, Christie, and daughter, Emma Jane - my wide-eyed namesake)
will always be the 8 year old punk I babysat, gave the tickle treatment to, and beat me in Mario Brothers. Now he's a husband, dad, employee, boss and a disgustingly nice guy. I really can't call him a punk.
Jill (pictured with me and her new husband Chris) will always be the sweet 12 year old girl who I laid on the beach with one starry night in Panama City, hearing her dream about boyfriends and "when she grows up." Her sweetness carried into adulthood, along with her big brains. Now she's a wife, a fellow WKU grad, an employee, a home-maker and a dear friend.
