During the process of training to be church planters last year, we connected with a team that is planting a church in New Zealand. Matt and I were immediately endeared to this group, considering ourselves ex-officio members of their team.
This morning, I read a post from one of their team members, Amy Flammer. Amy is one of the spunkiest gals I've ever met. She beautifully encapsulated some thoughts that have been flooding my mind these past few weeks. I was very refreshed by her words.
I read her post coming out of my quiet time in Matthew 14. I laughed out loud at what a dork I've been (and Peter was) . . . taking my eyes off Jesus because the winds (massive "to-do" lists piling up, trying to live up to all sorts of expectations, trying to make new friends and so on) distracted me.
I needed both of these reminders today that those winds (even if they get as strong as a hurricane) don't even come close to the strength of Jesus.
I didn't even know that you read our blog! Thanks for the encouragement! Isn't it great to know that we aren't alone? I will be praying for you guys...It's so crazy that we were together 'somewhere' :) almost a year ago and you guys are in Miami and we are two weeks away from leaving. Isn't God faithful?!
