One of the biggest challenges in the communications/marketing world is to make sure that the experience someone has with a product or service matches up with their anticipation of the experience based on what they know from the advertising.
Think about those poor saps in the latest Burger King commercials. They enter the restaurant ready to gorge on a Whopper (because an ad on the radio or TV prompted them to do so). They place their order, only to find that the Whopper has been taken off the menu. They're ticked.
This month, The Pursuit has and will blitz the South Broward, North Dade areas with advertising ... mass mail pieces, door hangers, city event sponsorships, canned food drives, movie nights, e-invites and more. All of these pieces tell South Florida that The Pursuit Christian Church will help people:
1. Find something that really satisfies.
2. Figure out what it means to love God.
3. Find friendships that encourage, challenge and support.
4. Become leaders who invest in others and improve the world by meeting needs.
This week as I experienced celebration service, community group, staff meeting and serving alongside my Pursuit peeps, I became overwhelmingly confident. Our launch team -- with their gigantic servants' hearts and love for God/people -- have created experiences that point people directly to Jesus.
As a result of our Wednesday women's Bible study, I have found a verse that I'm claiming for the people of greater Miami ...
"And I pray that you ... may know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."
Ephesians 3:17b-19
I have no doubt that, as people encounter ANY Pursuit experience, God is going to exceed their expectations.
