So I'm not ready to use the "a-holic" word yet, but Matt's message last Sunday has me working through my own transition from "Ignorance to Awareness."
Here are the questions I'm asking myself:
-Does my tendency to work a lot take me a way from the life God really wants me to live?-What's the difference between being a good, hard-working, dedicated employee and a work-a-holic?
-Since both of my jobs (working for The Pursuit and Fishhook) focus on helping churches connect with people who don't know Jesus, is it really possible to work too much?
-When I'm "working" am I really "working" - focused, productive, efficient? Or do I dilly-dally and (subconsciously and consciously) waste time to drag out my work to avoid doing the other things in life I want/need to do?
Right now it's a conversation ... a candid assessment. I welcome your perspective on work.
Janie, the questions you ask yourself are so full of insight. Sounds like the forward for your first book to me! Thanks for sharing.

Someone once suggested we need to build our work around the life we want instead of building our life around our work.

The New Eve by Robert Lewis. Check it out. I was waiting for someone to figure it out for me, but it's so individual. Define your core values first. The rest falls into place ... even work.
