I am fully aware of the amazing team I get to serve along side with at The Pursuit. This week we celebrated at our 2nd annual Staff Christmas Party. We went to Benihana and devoured some really good food.

The last several weeks at The Pursuit, we have been looking at the season of Advent and the first arrival of Jesus as a baby in a manger. As we have been moving toward Christmas, we have talked about how as followers of Christ, God wants to bring hope, peace, joy and love through us to a world desperately searching for those things.
One practical way, we are going to share the love and generosity of God is by engaging in the “Big Tip Challenge” this Sunday, December 21 after Celebration Service. After our service we will break into small groups, go out to lunch at a sit-down restaurant together, and show our appreciation to our server by leaving between a 50-100% tip.
After hearing the challenge this past Sunday, a few people were so excited they didn’t want to wait! Listen to what one anonymous person emailed me:
“... we went to Flanigans (for lunch). God inspired me not to wait for next Sunday, so I paid our server, 50% of the tip and we looked for a Pursuit card and found the We Love SoFlo card. We filled it with our names and invited her to The Pursuit. What a wonderful spirit-filled experience for the three of us. Praise God and thank you for the message.”
I love it! I look forward to seeing our entire church being good news to our community this coming Sunday!
Twice a year, all the affiliate churches from the NewThing Network gather together to connect, learn, hang, and look ahead.
The May trip is always to Chicago at Community Christian Church, but the December gathering is in one of the other affiliate cities.
2007 was in Boston. But now that they've got a warm weather affiliate in Miami, The Pursuit was quickly chosen as the host city of 2008. That may be the only reason they let us in!
Truth is, we are proud to be a part of such a great group of churches and catalytic leaders focused on helping people find their way back to God.
More and more people are discovering what several knew already. My wife, Janie is one talented chica. She works as a consultant for Fishhook, serves tirelessly for The Pursuit Church, and just wrote an article for the Christian Standard in her free time.
Last year The Pursuit helped the city of Pembroke Pines with their annual Snow Fest celebration. Thousands of people come each year to celebrate the Christmas season. It's a great event especially for children who have never experienced snow! That's right, 45 tons of snow is manufactured for this event and kids get to play in it.
Last year, we created a booth and invited Frosty the Snowman to come so kids could get their pictures taken with him. He was a hit. Hundreds of kids and families lined up last year. Word around town is Frosty is making a return visit to South Florida this year.
To make Snow Fest even cooler (get it, cooler!), The Pursuit band has even been asked to play on the main stage. Alex and the rest of the band is really excited about this opportunity.
