Looks like my wait for a new laptop is almost over. About 2 months ago my MacBook Pro turned into a glorified paperweight. Much thanks to Bob and Janie for allowing me to mooch off their Macs.
Apple just announced a media-only, town hall meeting on Tuesday, October 14 where they will be introducing the new MacBook line.
Thanks to all who poured out their sarcastic sympathies when I shared the news my iPhone was sick. I hope you catch whatever it had.
Last Thursday, I walked into the Apple Store in Ft. Lauderdale, told them my situation and without any hassle gave me a new iPhone. (With the 3G iPhone coming out July 11, I thought I should have waited a few weeks and maybe they would have upgraded me but the guy at the Genius Bar said they are keeping the older version of the iPhone for cases like mine.) After syncing it to my MacBook Pro all of my original settings were completely restored on the new phone. I have high respect for companies who care so much for their customers experience they will do whatever it takes to make sure they leave satisfied.
Sorry to those who's texts and calls I missed for a couple day but I am back and better connected then ever.
It's been a little over a year since I made the switch from PC to Mac and I have never looked back. An unfortunate event occurred last week that has made my allegiance to Apple even stronger. Someone (I won't throw them under the bus) spilt coffee all over my keyboard. A lot of coffee. Dunkin' Donuts to be more specific.
I pulled the plug, took the battery out, turned the computer upside down, watched the coffee drain out, let it dry and began thinking how to afford a new MacBook. One day later, I pressed the "On" button and (drum roll please) it did and works great. Are you kidding me?
The keys stick like crazy (all because I drink sugar with my coffee) but we bought a wireless keyboard and all is well.
