In the three years I have been a 30-something, I probably have read more books than I have in my entire life. I wish I could go back and change that. After college I stopped being a learner and I realize now how much time I wasted. That won't happen again.
As the Lead Pastor of The Pursuit, I read the usual books found on the desks of young church leaders. Today I picked up Axiom by Hybels, Jesus for President by Claiborne, Crazy Love by Chan and Jesus Wants to Save Christians by Bell.
But my favorite reads have to be biographies of great leaders in the world. I've been on a presidential kick as of late. Men like George Washington, Harry S. Truman, Teddy Roosevelt, Lincoln, and John Adams. Most led very humble and unassuming lives but became world changers. Personally, I learn far more from these extraordinary individuals than the books by the usual suspects.
