The Pursuit's Summer Interns

When I was a Student Minister, I had the privilege of getting to know some amazing young men and women who are sold out to the mission of Jesus.  Two of those students are Carl Wittrig (who I used to call Chuck all the time because I could never remember his name) and Hannah Draper. 

Currently they are both students at Cincinnati Christian University and preparing to go into ministry full-time.  I am very proud of them both.

That is why it was a no-brainer to ask them both to come down to South Florida this summer for some hands-on-training at The Pursuit.  They will be helping out with our Kids City program on Sunday morning as well as creating some summer events for Middle School and High School students.

I am thrilled to get to work with these two!

Best Prank Ever

My last post made me remember the best prank I ever pulled.

A few years ago, when I was in Student Ministry one of my friends thought it would be hilarious to take several high school girls over to my house and decorate it for Christmas ... in April. 

For months, I waited silently plotting my revenge.

The church I used to work at, Traders Point Christian Church, used to have a HUGE puppet ministry.  I'm talking hundreds of them. Why, a puppet ministry?  Great question. I guess puppets need to know Jesus too.

Back to the story ... one day when my friend was out of town (and my girlfriend, now wife was apartment sitting for her) me and a bunch of high school kids loaded every single puppet in several vehicles and set them up all over her place.  We had penguins in her freezer.  A dinner party around her table. Hundreds of puppets, in a little two bedroom apartment.  It looked like The Muppet Show had exploded. 

The best was this life-size dog costume sitting on her toilet doing a crossword puzzle.  She later told me, he about gave her a heart attack when she walked in the bathroom!  I wish I had more pictures of this prank because it was classic. 

Youth Ministry at its Finest
